Hey there!!!

haven´t post for days.. I feel ashamed about that! But I am still here. Hope everything´s great for all of you. This month is my birthday, so I cannot be more excited (yeah, I´m not 30 yet, so I can celebrate with joy haha). That´s the reason why my boyfriend booked me flights to Germany... yeah, Germany is a big wrapped present, with a big bow on top! :) Good that we are gonna spend Valentine´s Day together, isn´t it? 2 weeks together feels pretty cool.

MUJI + LEGO

Who hasn´t spent hours of childhood playing with Lego bricks, building impossible houses and fearing when a piece was out of its place? my love to Lego was born because my dad is a big fan of the bricks, even more than myself... I´d say it´s genetic, or maybe he´s just too insistent.
Well, my fav toys brand of my childhood (and adulthood, since everytime I am in Cologne I cannot help stopping by at the sacred Lego-Store), form an alliance with a minimalist brand, not that known by many of you, the japanese Muji.
Muji is dedicated to the commercialization of all kind of objects: clothing, furniture, toys, office stuff, decor... and much more I cannot remember.
What turned out of this peculiar danish-japanese collaboration? five boxes where we can find classic Lego bricks and paper color sheets that we are gonna use with the instructions... or the rules of our imagination! The boxes are: animals, circus, sea, transparent and christmas.
The punching machine is available separately, and it´s possible to buy the boxes through the online shop of Muji.

¿Quien no ha pasado horas de su infancia jugando con Legos, armando casas imposibles, temiendo por cada pieza que no aparecía en su sitio? Mi afición a los bloques nació porque mi padre es casí más fan de Lego que yo... diría que es genético, o quizas pura insistencia: ya se sabe que quien la sigue la consigue.

Pues bien, mi marca favorita de juguetes de la infancia (y para que negarlo, también en la actualidad, ya que cada vez que voy a Colonia no puedo evitar pisar el "suelo santo" de la Lego-Store), se ha aliado con una marca minimalista un poco menos conocida para la mayoría, la japonesa Muji.
Muji, se dedica a la comercialización de todo tipo de objetos: desde ropa, muebles, juguetes, objetos de oficina, objetos de decoración. Y ya perdí la cuenta.
¿Qué salió de esta colaboración danesa-japonesa tan peculiar? cinco cajas en las que se encontrarán bloques de Lego y hojas de papel de colores que usaremos según el libro de instrucciones o los dictados de nuestra imaginación! Las cajas son: animales, circo, mar, transparente y navidad.
La maquina agujereadora se vende por separado (18€), y las cajas están disponibles en la tienda online de Muji (28€), aunque de momento sólo veo una a la venta en la tienda española.

Angels

Hello February!

Month of Love, since on the 14th we celebrate Valentine´s Day... the most romantic day of the year. Too bad I´m always too far away from my "Valentine" to celebrate with him. There´s nothing Skype cannot fix, right?
I cannot help feeling romantic these days, and I thought I had to prepare something special. I always admired a paint by Rafael, called Angels, which I´m sure all of you know already:

I love to work with felt and fabrics, but sometimes I like trying my luck with other materials, such as paper. That´s how I could make some cute broochs with one of my favourites paintings ever. They are resistant, since I worked with cardboard, several layers of newspaper and finally... varnish.
I know, it sounds like a lot of layers :)
The final result is this, and I wear them on my coats, cardis or shopping bags:

Hola Febrero!
El mes del amor, ya que el 14 es el día de San Valentin... el día mas romantico del año. Que mal que siempre tengo que celebrarlo lejos de mi "Valentin". No hay nada que Skype no pueda solucionar, verdad?
No puedo evitar sentirme romántica en estos días, y pensé que debía preparar algo especial. Siempre admiré una pintura del pintor Rafael, que se llama "Angeles", y que estoy segura que conocen de sobra.
Me gusta mucho trabajar con fieltro y telas, pero a veces también me gusta probar suerte con otros materiales, como por ejemplo: papel. Así es como hice estos broches, con los angeles de aquella famosa pintura. Son muy resistentes, ya que usé cartón, varias capas de papel de diario y finalmente, barniz.
Lo sé... suena a montón de capas :) Los llevo en mis abrigos, cardigans o en mis bolsos de tela.
